Our Sunday is at 10:45 am. Our service style is blended, that means a combination of traditional and modern music. Service is streamed Online. We serve coffee and yes you can take coffee with you to the sanctuary in a cup with a lid.  All weekend services are a bit different, and each service currently lasts around an hour.
We serve Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. In the United Methodist Church, we observe what is called “Open Table” that means that everybody regarding age or membership are welcome to the table of the Lord.
We want you to feel comfortable! You’ll see a variety of attire on Sunday mornings, and we love it that way. Whether you arrive casual or dressy, we want you to feel at home!
If you’re a guest, feel free to park anywhere in our main parking lot. However, there are three shady spaces just for first time guests on the south corner of the car park.
The covered portico entrance is open for entry they are a handicap accessible door.

Our Heritage

Main Street has a rich history deeply rooted in the heart of the Upper Alton community from the time of the well-known circuit raider Peter Cartwright until our post-pandemic days.

The Methodism began in the Alton area in 1817. Since its foundation, the Methodist Church has been hosted by three different buildings, our current facilities were completed on April 29, 1986.

While our historical legacy is relevant, and we are so proud of having in our former membership people like Robert P. Wadlow “The Alton Giant”. With programs like providing free apples from our Community Orchard and providing free furniture and household goods to people experiencing emergencies, we are working together to revitalize the importance of a strong spiritual foundation for all.
